The day the path begins

There are places unheard of. And they are all with nary a mark on them that may not enable you to trace them on a map. And those who nevertheless go there undergo a long exercise of rehabilitation before being able to get those unheard places. And those who go there to be reborn must get there solely and compulsorily via a long swerve, that starts a long time before they realize that swerving. That swerve begins as a breaking point in your life, a bolt of lightning which scores a direct hit on you. That it is an unassimilable spiritual earthquake not every person can cope with, as a result of which people may slip into insanity if they are not strong and solid as cliffs against the waves coming from the sea. In the beginning, when you realize that you are swerving, you gasps out "Me? Why?". You cannot believe that you are not like the others. That you are different. It is an inescapable somersault from one state into another, that swerve. You have thought you were happily b...

Memoirs of a martial Artist - sometimes dreams seem slow

(foto Živilė Abrutytė) The Master had explained to me, without any apparent reason, that someone had funnelled thousand of euros in that coffeehouse to keep it open during the winter. And he did it unbeknownst to everyone in such a way that somebody had the suspicious that it was a money laundering operation, which was quite common in this city. It was quite manifest that one of the best known banks of Vilnius received a formal warning from the central bank of Lithuania. There was a sort of depression in winter around the center. Few passersby, no tourists, no business...given the harshness of the winter…an unfortunate situation to run a shop in winter in the city.An Italian I knew used to say that in those days  ci sono i lupi per le strade . He meant that the streets are so deserted that only wolves go around the empty...

Two languages surprisingly close because of their the lexicon and structure: Lithuanian and Sanskrit

by Fabrizio Ulivieri Among the European languages, apparently Lithuanian is the closest to the Sanskrit language. Here are some surprising similarities: Horse Arklys (lit..) - ashva (snkr.) Smoke Dūmas (lit.) - dhumas (snkr.) Son Sūnus (lit.) - sunus (snkr.) Man Vyras (lit.) - viras (snkr.) Sole Padas (lit..) - padas (snkr.) Fire Ugnis (lit.) - agnis (snkr.) Wolf Vilkas (lit.) - vrikas (snkr) Wheel/chariot Ratas (lit) - rathas (snkr.) Old man Senis (lit.) - sanas (snkr.) Tooth Dantis (lit..) - danta (snkr.) Night Naktis (lit)- nakti (snkr.) Dog Šuo (lit.) - švan (snkr.) To burn degti (lit..) - dahati (snkr.) The relationship between Sanskrit and Lithuanian goes even deeper. Take, for example, the Lithuanian word "daina", which is usually translated as "song". The word actually derives from an Indo-European root, which means "to think, to remember, to meditate". This root is found in Sanskrit as dhi and dhya...
