Literature heute & Eliten zu reproduzieren

Es geht ein kleines Beben durch die deutsche Literatur-Szene. Die deutsche Gegenwartsliteratur sei brav und konformistisch. Warum? Weil nur Söhne und Töchter aus gutem Hause an den beiden führenden deutschen Schreibschulen in Hildesheim und Leipzig studieren würden. Der Literaturkritiker Florian Kessler, selbst Absolvent des Hildesheimer Studiengangs „Kreatives Schreiben“, hat in der Wochenzeitung „Die Zeit“ einen ziemlich gnadenlosen Systemverriss der deutschen Autoren-Ausbilungsstätten verfasst.

„Kreatives Schreiben studiert habe ich meiner Erinnerung nach mit Lehrerkindern und Ärztekindern und noch mehr Lehrerkindern und noch mehr Ärztekindern", schreibt er. Sicher habe es Ausnahmen gegeben. Insgesamt aber handelte es sich um "so ein dynastisches Familiending", so Kessler. „Die erschütternd wenigen Mitschüler aus meinem Heidelberger Gymnasium, die nicht der etablierten Mittelschicht angehörten, hatten definitiv andere Interessen als ein Dichter-Studium.“ Und weiter: „Insgesamt reüssieren meiner Wahrnehmung nach in Hildesheim und Leipzig ganz besonders die Absolventen mit den hochrangigsten bundesrepublikanischen Eltern [...] Nun ist der Vorwurf, dass die junge deutsche Gegenwartsliteratur keinen mehr vom Hocker haue, nicht unbedingt neu. In der Bundesrepublik geistert er seit Gras-und-Böll-Gedenken durch die Feuilletons. Zuletzt wurde er in einem viel beachteten Artikel von Dana Buchzik über das bedeutende Literaturfestival Open Mike laut. Sie ist der Meinung, dass junge deutsche Autoren nur noch über ihre Unterhosen, vom Tapezieren oder vom Strandlaufen schreiben. Nabelschau auf nationalem Niveau.
Auch, dass zulassungsbeschränkte Studiengänge wie die in Hildesheim oder Leipzig vor allem dabei helfen, Eliten zu reproduzieren, kann man in fast allen soziologischen Studien über das deutsche Bildungssystem nachlesen.

My world before and after the so-called Pandemic

  Prior to the so-called pandemic, the world was different. I was different.  One of my greatest moments of pleasure was visiting unknown cities, lost in the unknown, following an unknown flux of life surrounded by unknown streets and people.  I felt invisible. No one knew me, and I knew no one. That gave me a strong sense of pleasure. The pleasure of doing things you usually avoid in places where everyday life, routine, and the fear of showing yourself in a way people are not accustomed to expecting from you.
