Il romanzo è stato definito come la sfida italiana a "Cinquanta sfumature di grigio" di E. L. James (pseudonimo della scrittrice Erika Leonard).
Una presentazione sicuramente da non perdere.

"Rugìle" si legge tutto d'un fiato. La storia è veloce e concentrata sui rapporti tra un italiano di mezza età, che vive a Firenze, e diverse donne straniere. Una di queste amanti è quella che darà il titolo al libro per la forza tragica con cui affronta la vita e il sesso: Rugile.
Molto singolarmente il personaggio maschile, che non è mai nominato in tutto il romanzo, è fortemente attratto da donne giovanissime e odia le rughe e le donne della sua età, come se rifiutandole lo facesse rimanere giovane per sempre. La sua vita è scandita da donne asiatiche, americane e lituane che gli insegnano l'arte del sesso e dell'amore. C'è un capitolo molto toccante, quello su Ipazia, che racconta la storia d'amore con una bella ragazza coreana, di Seoul, che lavorerà come prostituta a Firenze per superare un complesso edipico con il padre. Nel libro ci sono spesso dialoghi in inglese tra il protagonista e le sue amanti, che sono tradotti in italiano alla fine dei capitoli, trasformando il libro in una eccellente combinazione di italiano e inglese.
"Rugìle" è sicuramente la risposta italiana a "Cinquanta sfumature di grigio" di Erika Leonard.
